This is the first arc of the final saga. I'll admit that I skimmed through most of the content here, but I don't think what we got so far is underwhelming in relation to the setup that Oda had created for Egghead from the start. If anything, nobody thought that characters like Kizaru or Saturn...

To be honest, Marineford power scaling was a mess in general. Commanders fighting equally with admirals, Doflamingo dominating Jozu, Crocodile vs Mihawk. It’s hard to say what we can or can’t use.

If that's the case then good lol. Oda thought the best way to force Luffy into a top tier was having Luffy pull 3 power ups out of his ass in a single arc.

As for the Gorosei, it’s possible they are stronger than an admiral. If so, I’m curious as to who exactly would they be pitted against in the Final War when there are 5 of them lol.

Eh, Houken will always be the strongest (probably) but he’d lose to the likes of Renpa and Ouki cause of his lack of “weight”. And as a combatant I could see Shibashou comparable to those two.

Yeah I know, it wasn't against you lol. I'm not actually suggesting the gap is big. I don't think Gear 5 is even that massive of a boost to be honest (aside from when he uses his strongest attacks)

Kizaru = Completely unscathed and casual G4 Luffy = Sweating/Battle damaged/forced into G5 The chapter speaks for itself lol.
