I literally changes nothing about him as an individual. It actually causes his ability to just randomly make friends with everyone and everything part of the world building. It's similar to the SSJ legend in regards to how long we knew about it narrative before it was revealed.

People really need to stop trying to make the guidebook numbers work, they just don't. Otherwise you get incredibly small increases between form two and three, form 2-3 and Vegeta and initial form four. Those gaps are implied to be quite large and they just aren't if you use the guidebook numbers.
