Whereas Goku and Vegeta got a huge power boost after finishing Gogeta's fusion, as suggested in the Manga. It is also shown in Chapter 27 of the Manga to Vegeta training very hard, to the level that Beerus congratulates him on how strong he has become and then Vegeta shows his PSSJB form. I mean this:

I don't see how such a boost is mandatory. Remove SSJB Goku (Post Vegetto) and SSJB Vegeta (Post Vegetto) from the powerchain and it doesn't really impact anything.
