Which card do you think is more versatile and effective in the anime?

Depends on the deck they're within, though Obelisk would be better on his own. Slifer + Slime >>> Whatever Obelisk can be utilised in though.

I thought the pecking-order was made quite clear in the anime. It was Ra on top, Osiris second and Obelisk was the lowest.

If anything, I'd say the anime would suggest Obelisk > Osiris based on the hierarchy of the school in GX.

That's just Kaiba being petty. By that logic Obelisk is better than Ra as-well and we know that's not right. Kaiba put Obelisk on-top because that was his God and Osiris the lowest because that was the God synonymous with Yugi.

Forgot Obelisk was the top house. Then again, you could argue Obelisk was technically the best on a levelled playing field due to having a solid number for it's attack/defence, whereas Osiris and Ra are purely dependant on the amount of cards in your hand and life points sacrificed respectively. Obelisk simply doesn't measure up in terms of potential usage.

I'd say the potential is also more important here. Their attack-points might not be set, but they can be extremely high if you play right. Obelisk has attack and defence points that are even surpassed by regular monsters like Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The other two just seem more special in that regard.

I'd say it depends how late into the game Obelisk was drawn. This doesn't seem much of a factor in the original series where plot convenience never makes this an issue other than in Yugi's match with Doll/Strings, but drawing Osiris pretty late when you've got very few cards left isn't something that may benefit you too much when tribute summoning and still having a full hand would be a concern, especially when it'd only be effective if buffed enough to take an opponent down in the turn after summoning.

But there are also cards for pulling extra-cards like Pot of Greed and stuff. On-top of that Osiris has another effect, doesn't effect the the other Gods I think but still, and that is lowering any monster that's on the field's attack-points by 2000 and if they are lower they get destroyed.

Ra was the most haxed by far no question, only really requiring you to keep a steady amount of life points and/or monsters on the field to use its crazy array of powers.

I always imagined the Duel Academy layout was Kaiba being Kaiba, a ginormous dunkoff who was still sore about being humiliated by Yugi in his own tournament.

Either way...it's hard to pick. Obelisk has that infinite ATK ability and 4K Burn damage effect, while Slifer can knock off 2K from a newly summoned monster and possibly destroy it if it's weaker than that. I guess I'd chose Obelisk.

Obelisk tbh, even though I prefer Slifer.
