Anyone else who wants to pretend BOG/FNF/DBS never happened?

I've gradually gotten into Super, though there's still a lot of mind boggling stuff about it as a whole. I like Super now.

Yeah, it's horrible. I remember when I first joined DBZF five years ago, it seemed the consensus was "GT fucking sucked, but that's Toei's fault! Toriyama is a god-given gift to manga and if he made a sequel it'd be the best!" and I eventually adapted that mindset, because I was naive and really liked DB/Z.

But now, we can see how horrible everything truly is, and it's sad. Super has pretty much killed my interest in the franchise.

Franchise should've just ended when Toriyama finished the manga

There's no way the franchise would have ended after Toriyama handed the rights to his series to Toei, the cancer of the Anime industry.

Anyway, you can easily ignore BOG/FNF/DBS. I'm of the opinion that if it's not the Dragon Ball Manga, it's not canon.

I don't pretend it didn't happen, but I just treat them almost like two different series.

I don't account for them when talking about the original manga, because they are full of inconsistencies and contradictions, such as Goku being the strongest in the Boo arc, and Freeza being stronger than Base Goku. I treat it as a side story, just like GT.

I'd honestly say current Super is at least now better than GT, since as mediocre as it may be (it's gotten better), I really doubt we'll see anything as atrocious as the Super 17 arc from here on out, or horrendous inconsistencies like Freeza and Cell being immortal and the androids ki being sensed.

Still feels like an anime-only project with Toriyama's name on it to boost sales though.

I like Battle of the Gods, I thought Frieza's Resurrection was disappointing (aside from Goku vs. Frieza), and I dropped Super at Ep.2. I would've been perfectly fine with DBZ staying dead. We didn't need a new series, I even would've been fine with the occasional movie every now and then. But hypothetically speaking IF the decision is made to recton Super, Battle of the Gods, & Frieza's Resurrection and have them be non canon or even if they were erased from existence I wouldn't mind in the least and prefer it that way to be honest.

Basically this. I don't mind BOG, but it's not much better than some of the Z movies. ROF can suck a cock. DBS is below average at best, and I don't watch it consistently because of how blubberous it is.

Every good franchise always ends up getting bastardized. Just think of Star Wars.
