Although it is an universe in which the more powerful characters often rules, I believe the strategical aspect of Dragon Ball, especially nowadays, is often underrated. So I thought it would be a good idea to talk about the ones that impressed you guys most.

Well I, for one, always thought Vegeta escaping Freeza's ship with the dragon balls was brilliant. The guy could have just left the ship while masking his ki, but instead he tried and successfully stole the orbs right under the big bad's nose and even got away with it without a scratch. This moment is a good reminder that Vegeta was awesome in Namek arc.

In no particular order:

- Vegeta escaping Freeza's ship. You already said all that needs to be said.
- Goku freezing Buyon. Shows some good critical thinking on Goku's part in a tough situation from information he only recently picked up on, showing Goku's learning potential in both battle and common sense that modern DB always overlooks.
- Kuririn's feint Kamehameha + tail grab on Goku - A good use of Kuririn's knowledge that shows him as one of the most strategic fighters in the series from an early age.
- Piccolo VS Frost (Anime). As much flak as I give the Super anime, seeing Piccolo use all his interesting techniques to stall for the Makankosappo was a good way of showing how Piccolo's skillset is underrated as far as in-series use goes.

Goku making both Piccolo's attack (can't remember which one again) & Freeza's kienzan back-fire on them. I'm serious.

-Goku using ki blasts from the water to distract Freeza in order to get a solid hit on him.
- Vegeta bluffing his way out of a fight with #20 because of his energy loss
- Hit doing a fake out with his time-skip to goad Dyspo into using his speed

Another one I just remembered was Roshi using Goku's shorter legs to his advantage during the 21st tournament.

Piccolo missing 17 on purpose with his Makuhoidan (Hellzone Grenade) stand out to me. Against a normal opponent it would be extremely effective.

Emmeth's just reminded me of Shunkan-Ido KHH. That was also an intelligent idea to come-up with.

Here's the best one (I think I think) that I always thought was very intelligent but for what-ever reason couldn't recall until now. I did think something was there that I couldn't remember though I think.

The way Goku changed with Captain-Ginyu again and then changed Captain-Ginyu with the frog l0l.

One that definitely doesn't get enough praise (probably because of the stigma against GT) would be Goku and Vegeta doing a feint with the Zanzoken to distract Yi Xing Long as they prepare to fuse a 2nd time. Not only is it nice to bring back this old move which should logically be ridiculously effective with how fast the two SS4s are compared to Part 1 characters, but it being made apparent Yi Xing Long can't sense Ki made it one of the only times after the Freeza Arc where it could be used and it was utilised well here.

A lot of the tricks Kuririn pulled when outmatched in the Budokais (Throwing a pantie at Roshi, inflating himself to fall slower, Goku’s tail…) were very creative for me. Roshi showed plenty of techniques that were never seen again during his final with Goku at the 21st as well.

Also, Super Boo was really smart to blow up himself like that, come back after Goten and Trunks could already fuse and taunt them into fusing so he could absorb them. A very good plan for someone like Super Boo.

On the other side one of the most stupid things was Freeza not doing at-least one push-up on Namek so he could have one-shotted SSJ Goku.

No, that move was retarded when Goku could've just Shunkan Idou'd to the Kaioshinkai or some other planet and fused back to Gogeta there. Not sure if Toei even remembered you can't fuse for an hour after successfully fusing once, though...

Toei establishes that overusing Shunkan Ido can drain Ki, so I doubt it'd be something Goku would want to risk when needing to keep his Ki equal to Vegeta's. Going to the Kaioshinkai wouldn't work when Kaioshin can't be sensed, not to mention Sugoro and his son having seemingly moved off it, and even trying to locate a nearby planet with inhabitable life (one of the other 27, apparently :troll ) would be a far more risky manoeuvre when it'd give Yi Xing Long ample time to seize an opening.
It's also worth noting that in the Toei continuity, Post-Cell Arc Base Galu and Paikuhan are fast enough to travel from Heaven to Hell in seemingly little time despite the almost universal distance between them, so with the limited Ki sensing range Goku has, Yi Xing Long should logically be able to catch up immediately regardless of what planet he teleported to.

The GT anime doesn't seem to roll with that speed feat (or really any other filler speed feat either). Super #17 and SSJ Galu would've been logically higher than SSJ3 Baby arc Galu, yet it took them a few seconds to travel halfway across the Earth. Galu also used Shunkan Idou along with the draining SSJ4 form for like a fucking week after the Baby arc, so the ki drain wouldn't have been much anyway. Goku also used Shunkan Ido in the even more draining SSJ3 form (as well as after the SSJ3 form had completely drained him), so the ki loss from one use would have been minimal.

Still, the point remains that it would be incredibly difficult for Goku to lock onto life on another planet to perform the dance even if distracting Yi Xing Long with a Taiyoken. From what information we can draw from, the only planet definitely within range would be Yardrat, and how difficult it is to locate the very weak Yardrats from that distance is questionable compared to vice-versa when Galu came to Earth in Trunks' timeline.

As for Shunkan Ido's slow drainage, it is worth pointing out that spamming it was all Galu was doing in that week, compared to taking some heavy hits from Yi Xing Long before Vegeta's arrival combined with both having their Ki drained from the fusion.

Planets in the lower world wouldn't be the only ones within Galu's range. Galu can go in and out of the Kaio planet whenever he wishes even though Kaio's ki isn't even that much larger than the average Namekian, so it's all in all pretty lame that he didn't think of the Shunkan Idou.

I don't think Galu would have lost much ki from fighting as Gogeta, given that Gogeta only got serious moments before defusing with the BB KHH (only failing for the same reason Vegetto couldn't vaporize Merged Zamasu: Toei ki blast logic :troll ). Galu even said after defusing that they shouldn't have played around so much, so Gogeta wouldn't have been fatigued at all by the time he defused.
