Krillin had a zenkai against Frieza. Time and time again zenkais are not Saiyan exclusive. Arguably Frieza got one in Z.

I don't think Krilin's power upgraded past his potential unlock by the Namek Guru. I mean, all he did against Freezer was to throw the solar flare, kienzans and that attack when they were distracting Freezer while Goku was concentrating the Genkidama.
