Dragon Ball Z Criticized by US Congressional Candidate for Being Too Sexualized
A US congressional candidate claims that Dragon Ball Z is one of the worse offenders of oversexualizing characters among anime.

KW Miller is a US congressional candidate running as an independent for Florida's 18th Congressional District in the House of Representatives. Like most politicians, he uses his online presence to promote his political views. In one of his most recent attempt to sway people to his way of thinking, Miller accused Dragon Ball Z of being a top issue regarding anime porn.

The exact statement of Miller's tweet reads, "They are now introducing a great deal of anime porn into the internet matrix." He then followed by saying, "Dragon Ball Z is one of the top issues here. They are sexualizing cartoon characters to push a depraved agenda on our kids." He says all of this before asking, "When will it stop? When will it end?"

Now, there are several confusing and humorous elements within this tweet, but the most head-scratching one of the lot has to be the identity of "they." Miller is currently running as an independent candidate, but he routinely aligns himself with far-right politics, so it's unclear if he;s referring to the left in this statement, or a different entity, like Japan. Neither one makes sense in the context of this tweet.

They are now introducing a great deal of anime porn into the internet matrix.

Dragon Ball Z is one of the top issues here.

They are sexualizing cartoon characters to push a depraved agenda on our kids.

What’s next? Where will it end?

Dragon Ball Z certainly isn't afraid to show off what it looks like to be in peak physical condition. Characters like Goku, Frieza, and even Teen Gohan are riddled with muscles, but to consider that porn or over-sexualization is a farfetched statement, to say the least, and one that someone could make about anything regarding fitness.

Anime definitely dabbles in over-sexualization — as Miller's commentators certainly made sure to put on display — but to consider Dragon Ball Z a top offender of that shows just how little Miller knows about what he's criticizing, which seems to be a reoccurring pattern as this isn't the first time he's said something outlandish.

Miller seems to be a fan of the Donald Trump method of garnering attention, putting himself in the spotlight by using colorful language to stir up listeners and viewers. It's not an unheard-of political tactic, but it's certainly one that leaves the spectator questioning the individual applying it.

It's best not to listen to politicians on anything concerning the entertainment industry, especially when it comes to something as niche as anime. Their understanding of it tends to be lackluster at best and nonexistent at worst. Most of the time, the industry is used as a scapegoat to blame all of the world's problems on. Good examples are "video games cause violence," or movies like "Infinity War and Joker breed criminals."

You know how some independents aren't attached to a major party because they're too crazy for either of them?

That's this guy.

How many versions of DragonBall were there, & is the one with the hearts on her she a Fan edit ?
Also the bottom scene Bulma is drawn better, she's more proportional compared to the top.

Two versions. The first one is the original while the second is from the movie "Path of the power" that was released during GT's run.

Pretty much what Gog said. Maybe the guy would have a point if referring to original DB with its content being pretty racy by the standards of western kids cartoons (which we can only use if specifically talking about the aired dub version...which was heavily censored), though its honestly fairly tame compared to other series in Jump during the 80s like Hokuto no Ken.
Finding DBZ too sexualised because 90% of the characters are jacked though...:wtf I wasn't aware convincing kids to train to become stronger and get into peak physical condition was considered "an agenda corrupting the youth", but it's definitely a positive agenda...unless the kids want to emulate Majin Boo, that is.

Despite pretty much all the characters mentioned in the article other than Freeza having a wife, children and no hints of bisexuality and the only confirmed homosexual character in the franchise (anime-wise, at least) being a clear villain :punk.

Depends on the audience really. Based on sexual content alone, parts of Dragon Ball (pre-Z) and the Marron swimsuit filler arc are definitely can easily be justified as being PG13. Even a 15 if you want to be prude.

I'd love to see him present evidence in congress. Imagine him showing video footage of Goku patting Bulma or the fortune teller "show me your balls" moment to the Senate. And then pulling out some hentai doujin hahaha.
