In both the manga and the anime, Freeza had made the statement that he has two more transformations after his second form, yet the statement that Slug was stronger than Freeza was still in place. Whether that is Initial Freeza or 50% Freeza is anyone's guess, but the answer remains the same.
Lord Slug being a counter-part to Piccolo (post-Fusion)'d proof that wrong, or something-else.HUEBR_Tapion said:ryan1227 said:Slug one shots. Except the movie was released before 2nd Form Freeza even went FP in the anime, and likely produced and animated around the episode where Freeza transforms for the first time. So Giant Slug > Initial 2nd Form Freeza, but thats about it.
According to the movie release dates thread, the movie was released after Freeza transformed into his third form in the anime, which is when he made the statement about having two more transformations.HUEBR_Tapion said:ryan1227 said:Slug one shots. The latest episode to the date was the episode "Piccolo - The Super Namek" where Piccolo appears in the battlefield to battle Freeza. However, Freeza only uses his FP on the next episode, "Déja vu", which was released a few days after the movie's release.Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, also known by its Japanese title Dragon Ball Z - Super Saiyan Son Goku (Japanese: ドラゴンボールZ 超 スーパーサイヤ人だ孫悟空 Hepburn: Doragon Bōru Zetto Sūpā Saiyajin da Son Gokū?) is the fourth Dragon Ball Z feature movie. It was originally released in Japan on March 9, 1991
Didn't they still show Gotenks' ghosts in Movie 12 despite them not having shown up yet in the anime?HUEBR_Tapion said:@ryan1227 They know about the statement, but it is not included in the movie timeline because it had not been presented on the anime yet. That's why Gotenks doesn't appear as a SSJ3 on Movie 12, or why Goku doesn't use SSJ2 against Broly on Movie 10.

True, but what they did was only shown in episode 259, after the movie was already released.HUEBR_Tapion said:ryan1227 said:Didn't they still show Gotenks' ghosts in Movie 12 despite them not having shown up yet in the anime?HUEBR_Tapion said:@ryan1227 They know about the statement, but it is not included in the movie timeline because it had not been presented on the anime yet. Actually, Gotenks's Kamikaze Ghosts had already been shown in the anime by the time the movie came out.

It still shows that they can use things in the movies without explicitly showing them in the anime first. Another example of this is in Movie 3, when Goku uses Kaioken x10 against Tullece, despite the fact that the statement that Goku could use the Kaioken x10 hadn't yet appeared in the anime.HUEBR_Tapion said:ryan1227 said:True, but what they did was only shown in episode 259, after the movie was already released.HUEBR_Tapion said:Actually, Gotenks's Kamikaze Ghosts had already been shown in the anime by the time the movie came out.
Episode 258 ends with Gotenks doing the Kamikaze Ghosts, so it still counts imho.

I don't see why it is that different. I imagine anime only viewers would be rather confused if they saw against Vegeta that Goku had trouble withstanding a Kaioken x3, yet against Tullece he withstands a Kaioken x10, but evidently TOEI didn't really care. In fact, the entirety of Movie 3 seems to not care about what had been shown in the anime. Gohan is at 10,000 despite the fact he had not been shown getting his potential unlocked at that point, Piccolo is at 18,000 for some strange reason, and Goku is at 30,000. It really doesn't match up well to any saga. While it is true that TOEI sometimes withholds things that haven't been shown in the anime at that point (such as Gohan being the weakest in M8, despite being the strongest in the Cell Games) it doesn't have to apply to every movie.HUEBR_Tapion said:BUMPPrivate Ryan said:It still shows that they can use things in the movies without explicitly showing them in the anime first. Yeah, but Kaioken is a different matter. It is a technique that had already been shown in the anime several times, so Goku using it on Movie 3 before it was shown on the anime doesn't conflict with my argument, because the technique itself(Kaioken) had already been shown in the anime before. So my theory still stands.
