Like for sure... no section of the fandom is as rabid and obnoxious as the people who obsessed over rice boy.
At least the Broly fandom chilled out over time and Vegeta fandom like Vegeta for Vegeta while Gohan "fans" seems to only like Gohan for who they want him to be... which is why they try to twist shit about him like him loving fighting all along when his whole character arc is the fact he never got off from combat like his father but got involved in the Z-Warrior's fighting business because he felt obligated to it.
Let's look at how much they flock this idealized vision of him:
1. I've seen people claim Gohan during the Cell Games is 2x (or higher) Goku as SSJ even though Cell was whooping his ass. Yes I understand Gohan wasn't fighting back but he still shouldn't have that much trouble dealing with Cell if he was so much more powerful than his old man. In fact... Cell wasn't even interested in fighting Gohan over Goku. The boy is definitely stronger but he doesn't have to be at a completely different league.
2. His fans practically lose their shit if he isn't top dog. It's understandable now because he's only relevant to job but fans complain that he's not uber strong rather than wanting him to be treated with simple respect.
3. They don't see to care for his actual character. The more I see them complain I only get the impression that much of them only like Gohan because he's strong. Instead of being at least happy he's not just another battle-obsessed freak like Goku and Vegeta, they're angry at him for not being gung-ho on training because "mah SSJ2 Gohan" instead of demanding for his character to be developed further which actually would benefit the whole series by allowing it to escape it's previous flaws and cliches in contrast to the pandering nostalgia bullshit that Super has been pulling.
In short, his fans are obnoxious and are more harmful to his character than than a help.
