I mean, thing about it..

-He was sent to Earth basically because his people didn't want him
-He was born to be a nobody with just an above-average power level
-In the beginning he lived in the middle of nowhere living in some dingy little house with no family
-Nobdoy believed him at first till he proves them wrong

People in the struggle should look at Goku for inspiration. He remains optimistic and positive through it all.

Nah, I don't see it that way. Goku was always seen as a very powerful person, with a lot of potential, even in the beginning of the series.
