I think so, yes. Gr 3 is such a grey area when it comes to its speed. It has to be much below SSJ speed to make the form not viable, so I'd say like 50% of SSJ speed. With that sort of speed Trunks could finger flick 16 or Imperfect Faggot.

I agree that Grade 3 speed is below regular SSj speed, but I don't think it needs to be far below it. That speed is enough to blitz 16 and Imperfect Cell anyways, so Grade 3 should still be enough.

Well, if it was say 80% of SSJ speed, you can still make an argument that the form would be useful. I think the entire point was that it was completely useless. Cell and Vegeta thought Trunks was a fucking retarded for even trying it, it seemed like a completely illogical decision.

I mean, if you are going as far as using Grade 3 in an attempt to beat an opponent, then it seems to be a given that they would be a lot faster than regular SSj, making it useless anyhow.

I think he was delusional in that case. Grade 2 really doesn't have visible irredeemable qualities from what we were shown. It supposedly eats up a lot of energy, but it did not seem that way when Vegeta was casually sitting around in Gr 2 for ages and not losing any stamina at all.

Toriyama probably just wanted some excuse to write the forms out and that was the best he came up with. My solution is just assuming FPSS incorporates SSG2 and SSG3 power somehow and creates the best overall balance.

Well, I guess you can say Gr 2 would have the same flaws as Gr 3 in an equal power battle, hence why Galu wanted to maximize his SSJ instead. The major flaw imo is that speed and power are not proportional.

I'm honestly not sure what to make of Grade 2. As a regular SSj Vegeta is implied to be able to hold off Semi Cell, and then as Grade 2 he immediately blitzes and gut punches Cell. It's probably just bad writing by Toriyama, kind of like how Ginyu notes that he is faster in Goku's body despite the fact that his battle power was only 23,000.

Well ja, of course. Just increase your Gr 2 multiplier and there's no contradiction there.

1.5x speed advantage is yuge brah

I don't think it'd be too much of an issue against Semi-Perfect Cell. He was still moving around pretty fast, just slower than Second Grade or First.

If he's slower than his regular SSJ self he'd definitely get outsped by semi.
