How does the shaolin monk do against the Demon King at his prime?

Also, how does the Wolf Hurricane do as well?

I'd say Young Daimao is one step or two ahead of Kuririn. The latter was amazed with Goku's ( Weighted ) speed and was shocked that this was considered slow by Tenshithands. Kuririn can put up a fight, but is going to be a bit outmatched.

Piccolo Daimao Young 100
Kuririn ( 23rd Budokai ) 87

Krillin wins with mid difficulties

Piccolo thought taking over the world might not be easy after fighting Krillin

Piccolo most likely said that because he didn't think he would have any actual competition until Goku.

But he considered his father and Goku to be mothing special... Why would Krillin be competition if he is weaker than them?

Krillin is more skilled and has better technique...?

Competition for the amount of power he was using at the time. He didn't expect to have to power up beyond his initial surpression (which even that wasn't enough to keep Krillin down for the count) until Goku.

Why so big of a gap? I don't think anything suggests their power relationship from the 22nd TB changed.

Yea I think Kuririn and Yamcha ( 23rd Budokai ) should be close rivals... In the scouter numbers Yamcha is ~ 86% of Kuririn, this is just BS IMO... nothing suggests their relationship from the 22nd Budokai changed.

I have Yamcha at 96% of Kuririn.

Since, at BOZ, there is some gap between them and i view Wolf Fang as a weak kaioken, i think Krillin took
that into consideration when he said he and Yamcha are equals. Unless you choose to believe Yamcha greatly
surpasses Krillin with Wolf Fang, but i choose to go with the other solution.

There's nothing to suggest it stayed the same either

I wouldn't even call that a big gap.

It's a 88% gap... the same gap as Vegeta ( Saiyan Saga ) vs. Goku ( Kk ), or Vegeta vs. Zarbon ( Initial ). Is too big for Kuririn and Yamcha in the 23rd Budokai IMO.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not how status quo works? The last comparison we're given between them is that Yamcha is about as good as Krillin.

Why is it too big? What suggests they're close at all? I'm not saying that gap is right, but there's no reason to call it wrong either. It's pretty much a 50/50 chance.

I don't think Vegeta vs Zarbon (or Dodoria) is a good example of a gap to determine how strong a fighter has to be to stomp another. Far too many factors came into play. Vegeta vs Goku too, to a lesser extent though.

Status quo just means the current state of things/the way things are right now/the existing state of affairs, etc. The status quo in the 22nd Budokai was Krillin ~ Yamcha. The status quo in the 23rd budokai isn't given to us.

If it's not given, we should assume that has not changed. Like Vegeta vs. Piccolo... Vegeta is stronger than Piccolo in the Freeza Saga. And in the Trunks Saga ? It's not given to us who's stronger so we should assume that the Saiyan still has the upper hand.

Agreed. Yamcha ~ Krillen is the status quo and should be maintained into the 23rd Budokai. One could argue that BOZ 177/206 gap had to start somewhere. So it's a matter of preference. I for one still see Yamcha and Krillen as near equals.
