Do you prefer the anime where Fused Zamas is only semi-immortal and his body mutates into that hideous purple form... or the manga where there are multiple Fused Zamas because of his immortal body resisting him defusing?

Mutated Zamasu since the Manga Infinite Zamasu is just a Meta Cooler rip off. I also prefer anime version of Infinite Zanasu as well.

BTW, Six Tails how far are you in the anime and manga?

Multiple Zamasu since the eventual transformation into Infinite Zamasu that his mutated form lead to was completely nonsensical. How does it make any sense for someone to be scared of their body being destroyed if it just lead to them becoming stronger and suddenly gaining control over space time for no reason? :facepalm

Simply diffusing was far better than their body mutating, given how it shows completely that Zamasu was truly a mortal and we were never given an implication beforehand that a Mortal-God fusion would result in mutation.

Multiple Zamas is perfectly coherent with the story. As we saw when Vegeta launched the omega blast, after resisting the defusion and fusing at a celular level every piece of Zamasu became able to become a full Zamasu due to their inmortality.
That army of Zamasus the result of Goku's Hakai technique, and all those pulverized cells turning into a full Zamasu (that's why in the end of the chapter Goku asks Beerus if they could've had deal with Zamasu, and Whis replies "we have something that's much better than your jar".

Monster Zamas it's only coherent in that it escalates the asspulls of that saga to the very maximum. If Black's Magic Zenkay, Trunks SSJ Rage, Trunks' Mafuba, the fucked up power scale that was inconsistent not just between sagas or chapters, but even between scenes of a chapter and the Genki Sword hadn't been enough for anyone to understand that Toei's writters don't give a fuck, Monster Zamas was there for the sole purpose to make everyone realise it.
Now if you die you fuse with the universe because reasons. Well, to give them credit, if Toriyama wrote that Zeno-sama erased the whole parallel world then I think the writters at Toei gave a reason for him to do so.
They took Zeno for your usual "good kiddy character" and that's why the manga is so much better. Why would the gods of destruction be so afraid of anime Zeno sama?
In the manga they show you what can happen if you mess with Zeno. Zeno is not a kid you can easily fool to do exactly as you want, because he is too monstruously strong and really doesn't give a shit about blowing every single universe (as it's later shown in the universal tournament saga when they wanted to erase 8 universes just because they became bored of their game).

Monster Zamasu made more sense IMO. Why the fuck defusing would make him multiply? Him getting scarred until getting turned into a monster is way cooler for me, though Infinite Zamasu made no sense.

Infinite Zamasu was a spontaneous occurrence in both media tho.

Finished the anime (though I skipped around in the ToP and skipped some filler episodes) and have yet to start the manga. :galu

Cool. Will you make a power level list for the anime or the manga when you eventually start it?

Most likely for the manga. The main thing that discourages me is the whole "everyone randomly increases their power mid-battle" thing that makes it impossible to accurately gauge character's strengths or to basically give them a different level for each episode.

Inmortality makes him multiply, "defusing" made nothing.
Now can you explain me what sense makes for him to fuse with the whole universe? How is that justified exactly?

Oks sorry I thought "Infinite Zamasu" was what happened in the manga and Monster Zamas the "universal fusion" that happened in the anime.
