I'd say it's a 50-50 chance that it won't be a 7th generation, considering they announced the Zygarde forms just a while ago and they're not in any video game yet. Although, chances are Nintendo will bait people to ride the hype train by announcing a totally new generation in spite of that. Contradictory as that sounds...

They could do a hybrid generation using some from before combined with new ones. I doubt they'll make an entire new set.

Looks like it'll be a new generation after all, based on the announcement that it won't be able to trade directly with X and Y or ORAS, only being able to communicate with them via Pokemon Bank.
