I’m looking at the series again & did AT plan to end the series at this point or is it just me?
Look at chapter 194. The cover is young Goku with the old crew. The chapter is called “The Gift of the DragonBalls”. & in that chapter is almost a retrospective of Goku & his friends’ adventures. Kame-sen’nin says how the DragonBalls brought them all-together in the first place. That almost feels like an ending. Of-course the fact remains a week or so later AT continued with the next saga but still this feels slightly off in that sense.
Goku finally wins the tournament. This feels like the last hurray for his friends. Yamucha who was so in awe & surprised of the KHH in the first saga now made a technique himself that was even greater & with greater ki-controll & praised by Kami-sama. Kuririn fought & seemed to get respect from Piccolo Jr. Kame-sen’nin was proud of all of them. Even Ten-Shin-Han got closure on the shadow of his past.
Then Goku got married.
Do you think this was just AT’s way of saying this is the end of Goku’s child-hood-adventures? Like how Naruto ended & then Naruto-Shippuden? or how One-Piece pre-time-skip ended & then post-time-skip began.
