I had a feeling they'd stop after the ToP arc but not so abruptly....
Either way, I'm glad Toei is halting production. For being a sequel to one of the most popular and influential series in anime/manga history, Dragon Ball Super is excruciatingly mediocre. It's hard for me to imagine recommending it to anyone who isn't already into Dragon Ball. With the lazy plotlines, stilted and rushed art/animation, character flanderization (Goku and Chi-Chi strangely are the most extreme cases), non-existent power scaling, and erratic pacing.... just how can it compete with other contemporary shonen? Even Fairy Tail is better.
Granted, it's pretty entertaining to watch when you're not thinking too much about what's going on so that puts it above GT at least but still...
Now with that said, I don't want Toei to just give up on Super... I hope it's just on hiatus or at least they could address its issues with the upcoming movie.
