Vegeta: Super Saiyan God or not? (Manga)

Do you think Vegeta had Super Saiyan God/Red before training in the Room of Spirit and Time at the end of chapter 22?

Personally, I find it a bit too convenient that Vegeta's transformation was given the spotlight both visually and the narrative was teasing it at first before Vegeta finally admitted he needed it to beat someone like Black. Of course, Goku's use of the form was given spotlight when he used it against Hit, but I feel like that was more of a "oh shit, I forgot that form existed" moment rather than "oh shit, I didn't know he could do that" type of thing, which I got was the impression with Vegeta. Then again, Goku didn't really express shock that Vegeta used the form, more that Vegeta trained incredibly well to figure out such an intelligent strategy to win.

I can see the evidence for both sides, but right now, I think he achieved the form in the RoSaT in order to utilize Blue more efficiently.

I think you're right, but how would one become SSJB with no prior God ki?

God Chi seems to be something you can develop on your own. I doubt he did the ritual.

Galu calling it specifically the transformation stage before Blue and Black and Goku both showing no surprise at Vegeta's ability to use it leads me to think Vegeta always had it, but just chose to use Blue.

On the other hand, the fact that Galu immediately chooses to turn SSJG after expending some ki using Blue for the Mafuba and that Vegeta never attempted God against Hit could paint a different picture. I'm leaning toward the former overall, but Vegeta learning God in the Rosat is still a very plausible scenario imo.

You could also use Black going straight from SSJ to SSJR as evidence that God (Red) isn't a necessary requirement to reach Blue/Rose, only that you surpass the SSJG.

I don't see any evidence how did Vegeta attained the SSjinG form pre ROSAT especially when it looks like implied that the form is exclusive to Goku before Black Arc IMO.

I'd personally say he didn't. Vegeta's a smart fighter and doesn't make reckless decisions if not fuelled by pure pride, such as not using Grade 3 against Cell due to knowing it's flaws. With SSB's Ki drain, he'd likely have used SSG in most of his previous fights unless it was absolutely necessary (vs. Cabba, Hit and SSJ Black specifically).

I think he always had it. Doesn't make sense to have SSB but not SSG.
