What does this mean for Piccolo's strength?

Chapter: 447 (DBZ 253), P5.5-6
Context: after seeing Babidi and Dabra
Goku: “Kuririn, you’d better go back. Things seem a lot more dangerous than we thought”
Kuririn: “Wo-would you let me do that?...haha…It-it doesn’t look like things are at a level where I’d be very useful…”

Upon seeing Dabra and being informed of his status, Goku doesn't seem to believe Piccolo is weak enough to be completely useless against him.

Could be compared to Jeice being useful against Goku or the Z-Fighters vs. Nappa or something.

I don’t think it means much since they had yet to see Dabra’s power and were merely going by status.

Yeah, it's made apparent the Saiyans couldn't sense Dabura due to judging his power from his movements, so it doesn't really mean much when Kuririn was far behind everyone else. If wanting a quote to try and justify Boo Arc Piccolo's strength, this would be a much better one to go with, albeit also an obscure one:

Chapter: 464 (DBZ 270), P7.1
Context: Piccolo wants to go rescue Kaioshin from Boo
Kuririn: “…Control yourself…I know how you feel, but you’ve got to control yourself…! Frankly, even you aren’t any match for him…absolutely not…”

Never seen that quote before. It kinda reads like that one time the narrator said "EVEN Krillin was destroyed by the ruthless Androids!" considering the context, lmao.

Krillin's statement seems to be implying Piccolo is more powerful than any of the battle powers currently in there, but considering neither Dabura nor Kaioshin could be sensed, all that'd imply is Piccolo being ahead of SSJ Teen Gohan, which sounds a little absurd, all things considered.

Or was Gohan in base at the time? Can't remember, but that'd be more believable.

He was in base. Dabura attacked Boo with the spear and got killed after Gohan got knocked out.

Not that it makes much difference, since there's no reason for Kuririn to assume Gohan didn't use SS2 or at least SSJ and obviously Piccolo isn't on the level of either of them. My point was that it still holds more weight as a point for Piccolo's power than the post in the OP in suggesting Piccolo isn't complete fodder. It's not as though they weren't aware of Boo's power after all, given they both sensed how huge it was just before.
What's interesting in it as support for Piccolo's strength, however, is that the context is Kuririn talking Piccolo out of trying to save Shin, suggesting Piccolo may have considered himself capable of saving Shin from someone who could easily KO him, so you could use it to suggest Piccolo > Shin.

One could compare it to Piccolo rushing in to save Gohan from Cell, though, unlike Gohan, Shin wasn't his son.

Freeza > Base Saiyans > Piccolo :troll

Anyway, as for OP's quote. I think it's more about how Krillin has a family now and shouldn't be dying again as opposed to Piccolo who is warrior.

Piccolo progressed after the cell saga and kept training, but it was likely negligible against a fighter of Dabura's level.

Piccolo also had no sparks.
