red-ribbon-army - maybe adventure (i can't think of any-thing-else i think)

piccolo-daimao - thriller (bordering on horror i think)

Folklore fits in with the Hunt for the Dragon Balls Arc, considering the introduction of wish-granting orbs and the dragon god.

Fantasy is definitely applicable to the Buu Arc with factors like magic, sorcery, possession, etc. playing key parts in the plot.

Sci-fi/Science fantasy can be applied to almost every arc too with even the earliest arcs introducing highly advanced technology indistinguishable from magic in how it operates. I'd also say the Cell Arc borders on horror a lot more than the Piccolo Daimao Arc with how easily the enemies can hide and the entire 1st form Cell portion incorporating elements of slasher films and body horror that wouldn't be out of place in something similar to John Carpenter's The Thing.

It was a pretty central one throughout the start of the Saiyan Arc up until the end of the Cell Arc. Battles against aliens and galactic warlords, time travel, robotic enemies and biological creations of science are all textbook sci-fi ideas (particularly with the obvious influence Superman stories had on Toriyama's concept of the Saiyans or the start of the Cell Arc being inspired by The Terminator). The only arcs that are mostly deprived of much sci-fi elements would be each of the Tenkaichi Budokai.
