None of the fighters in the story are really in the tournament for a noble cause. Most of them are basically only out to save their own skin while Krillin was bullied into it, #17 just wants to waste a wish on a fucking boat, #18 is a greedy bitch, and Goku... he is just the worst. He not only seems to not give a shit people will die because of his battle-boner but he's basically mocking the other universes and just wants to punch things like the stupid, selfish meathead that he is.
