Why does DragonBall Z anime feel worse despite...

...having about the same amount of chapter-episode ratio as DragonBall?

DragonBall never felt as slow or dragged-out. Is it because of long, pointless stare-downs?

Weird is how the anime seemed to get worse as they also changed the writer and director I think.

Yeah, the filler really sucked in DragonBall Z compared to the first anime.
