Would Goku let Cell absorb 18 if they fought before the CG?

If Semi-Perfect Cell had got his shit pushed in against Goku instead of Vegeta, do you think Goku would have let him absorb 18 for the sake of a more challenging fight? Or do you think Goku would've killed him without any hesitation? If you ask me I'd say maybe. Because we did see Goku allow Frieza to tap into his 100% full power even though he knew that Namek was on the brink of destruction.

I don't think so. In my opinion, Cell could have probably played on the pride aspect of Goku much like he did Vegeta. The big difference would be that Goku would probably feel some moral issues about letting 18 get eaten like that. So out of sympathy or compassion for her, I don't see it happening.

But if it were just a matter of Cell powering up, or some other means of reaching the same power, yeah I totally see Goku falling for it.

Goku was in enraged mode against Freeza that's why he let him power up to his maximum. Cell on the other hand is different, so i don't think Goku will let him absorb 18 for the sake of his love on fighting.
