Context: Freeza, Zarbon and Dodoria discuss Vegeta’s battle power as he powers up against Kui. Zarbon’s scouter had exploded.
Zarbon: "I... I think it's a malfunction, but... My scouter was set on Vegeta, and as the figures surpassed twe... 22,000..."
Dodoria: “It’s definitely a malfunction! Your scouter’s an old model, after all. I’ll check out the correct figure off mine…”
Zarbon: “What’s the figure…?”
Dodoria: "Th... that's impossible... Is my new model malfunctioning too...?! It's risen to up to twe... 24,000... !!"
Zarbon: "24,000...?! Are you saying it's higher than o... our own battle powers...?!"

To be fair, he says it's risen up above both their powers, which could possibly include Dodoria, although it would seem odd he only pipes up about that once it's reach 24,000. Dodoria seems to take offense at 22,000.

They both try to write off 22,000 and 24,000, with Zarbon only mentioning being surpassed when it hit 24k. I dont have an issue with Zarbon around 22,000, but that spikey fat pink bitch is well below 22k.

If you use those, you can't really use anymore scouter numbers, it throws it all off. I just use those numbers to show what I think makes more sense.

Ginyu Levels need to continue to be investigated. There are multiple powers up in Goku vs Ginyu.

I see two levels of power at Goku vs Ginyu:

1- Ginyu speculates Goku's power was 60k and end up being close in his estimations, with Goku's power being slightly above it. Since Ginyu seeked a good fight like Cell, I doubt he would start too ahead of 60k, like Cell didn't start too much ahead of MSSJ Goku. And they end up in a stale mate. so both at 66k sounds fair;

2- Ginyus talks about how he can control his battle power as well, and right after it flares his aura, to which Goku is like "ohh". It seems clear Ginyu increased his power even more considering this and both him and Goku end up in another stale mate, so Goku logically did increase his powers too. So Ginyu (more power) ~ Goku (more power) >/>> Ginyu (initial) ~ Goku (initial) ~ 66k

But the problem is that this second power up has to be pretty small, considering it still has to fall off considerably below 85k, which was Ginyu's estimations for Goku's full power. Ginyu estimated Goku was hiding his 85k pl to fight Freeza, which doesn't make sense if Goku were already using some portion close to it. Taking all these implications into account gets a bit fucked if you go with scouter numbers. Not following them, my gaps would be:

Goku (Ginyu's estimations) : 100
Goku (real power/ initial) : 110
Ginyu (initial) : 110
Goku (power up) : 132
Ginyu (power up) : 132
Goku (reserves ro fight Freeza) : 180

I'd imagine Goku's reserves to fight Freeza being at least a 75-100 power up.

Which is why I think AT's number suck here as well. You'd think there would be enough spacing in a 60-90k gap, but it doesn't feel like it.

Did Goku get surprised by the blast, or was it a power up by Ginyu?

I think it was to Ginyu's power, since he fired the blast in the following panel. Although I'm not too sure, since Ginyu's hands were in a position to fire it:

People have shown me panels of this same exact sequence for someone just shooting a blast. I think Vegeta vs 19 shows a similar thing. The aura takes over their body as they charge up a blast.

Let's look further into the sequence. I'll start a thread, you post all the pictures of the fight.
