Zoro is his Arlong Park self, with no wound from Mihawk. Who wins?

Arlong wins imo. I don't think Zoro quite caught up to Luffy until after his Mihawk zenkai.

But wouldn't Luffy have gotten a Zenkai from Arlong as well? :eek:dawg

I don't think Luffy and Zoro were all that different through all of East Blue, so Zoro wins mid diff imo.

The captain Kuro shit seems to imply Luffy stood the best fighting chance out of the crew against him, so I think Zoro was somewhat behind Luffy until post-Mihawk (since Luffy wasn't that badly injured by Arlong, let alone having to be injured AND be forced to fight Hachi like Zoro). Arlong was pretty dead even with Luffy imo.

Luffy once he got completely serious was stronger than Arlong. Arlong couldn't move his Kiribachi at all when Luffy grabbed a hold of it.

I think that was a resolve boost like Luffy standing up after Lucci almost killed him because of Usopps presence or Luffy's bare fists punching through Crocodile's sand blades during the final moments of their fight despite openly saying that'd cut him in half earlier. I'm not sure that was purely his power.

I think Zoro would get beaten, but it would be a hell of a fight. Arlong definitely feared Zoro after seeing how wounded he was.

It'd be a close fight, though from the way Zoro commented about Arlong's power, I doubt even being healed would let Zoro win. He's not taking this until Whiskey Peak.

Zoro complimented Arlong's power, with Sanji even saying it was in a level completely different from the others fishman. But there's also Arlong being hella impressed with Zoro still being able to make all of these things with his wounds, seeing him as a danger. Later Zoro was able to fight in equal terms with Luffy for moments, and I even have the impression Luffy was taking him more seriously than Arlong, like knowing he had to be 100% serious to defeat Zoro.

I really don't know, that's a good fight. It could go either way imo, whether Zoro or Arlong takes this, it sure would be with extreme difficulties.

What exactly did Zoro say about Arlong?
After rereading those chapters, it seems Zoro didn't say much. However, Sanji saying Arlong was on a completely different level, or in the Viz translation, that this was the level of Grand Line power, says a lot, since he already knew how strong Zoro was from his fight with Mihawk.

I don't think Sanji would do all THAT good against Arlong if he were 100%. Is Zoro (Arlong Park) >> Sanji (Arlong Park)?

I thought Sanji said he was on a different level among fishmen? He also saw Luffy fight against Don Krieg, and I don't think Luffy grew all that much in the space of one arc.

Luffy making such a jump in power is actually pretty plausible, since from what we know, the Straw Hats surviving near death situations can make them quite a fair bit stronger. Take into account that Zoro went from being speedblitzed by Kuro to being Arlong level all from surviving one near fatal injury.
