This might have me back in the nerfed SSJ multipliers field. The usual 2.5x would be too small here, but 4-5x is perfect. You had SSJ = 4x, right? @SSJ2

4x always felt perfect for fusion to me. It's hard to explain narratively though. How is Goku confident in Gotenks being able to beat Boo if Super Saiyan is a 4x multiplier? How could he possibly calculate that? Unless it's more of a general confidence and he actually expected Gotenks to completely wipe the floor with Boo.

It always felt like just general confidence to me. Goku’s experience with fusion is too limited for him to be making accurate decisions.
I think his logic is: The fusion he saw was a X times boost. Boo is less than X times the SSJ Boys. So fusion should be superior to Boo.
Narratively, it’s just the multiplier being secondary to the the story itself. Everything post Boo Saga makes SSJ look like a small boost.
