17/18 sensors/data

So were 17 and 18 equipped with power sensors or did they only have a database with Gero's information? When Vegeta fought 18, 17 noted that he was a lot stronger than the data showed.

They clearly have some form of scanners if #17 was apparently able to judge #16's power before activating him, though obviously whatever scanner he has is pretty inaccurate. As I've said before, I'd probably say the inaccuracy is due to such a clearly artificial part not merging well with their mostly organic structure (seeing as how such a thing obviously isn't part of their highly amplified cells).

#17 clearly sensed #16 if he were to say his power was superior, and it definitely wasn't through pre-programmed data when he'd thereby be aware #16 far surpassed him. Even if #17 lacks a sensor for organic beings, he clearly still has some sort of sensor for Artificial Humans.

I'm referring to #17 telling Gero that #16's power is still inferior to his before activating him.

There's no evidence to suggest he did though, especially when #18 was already aware he was the same type as them.

I believe that might've been leftover data Gero installed into #17's databanks. Or an Android only sensor. What we know for a fact is he and #18 can't measure anyone else.

Based on #17 and #18 having no idea that Super Saiyan did more than change their hair color, there's no way they have any form of a sensor that can just gauge power. During the Piccolo and Cell fight, it was #16 that was telling them what was taking place. When Piccolo was raising his power to fight #17, we only see #17 react when #16 told him that it wasn't Piccolo. #16 was the one guiding them around when they were searching for Goku, and even tells them that he can no longer feel (this was after he went to Kami's Lookout) his power on his sensors.
