If you do believe that they have a limit to how much Ki they can absorb, what do you think it is? Below #17 and #18 perhaps?

Probably. Otherwise #19 may well be considered a failure since he could surpass 17 and 18

A good deal below #18 and #17 if that were the case

Hard to tell. Less than #18 sounds about right, but I wonder if they can go beyond that with enough absorbing. Then again, it's funny trying to imagine them with no limit to their power.

Like, if #19 were able to absorb a Final Flash, would he surpass #18? He seemed to get a huge power-up from the Kamehameha, so. The Final Flash would probably blow him up....

Yakon blew up from absorbing a SSJ2's light even though he could comfortably contain a SSJ1 transformation's worth, so I would think 19 would blow up at some point.

Hmm. I may reach outside the manga here, but two SSJ's were too much for the Big Ghetti Star. Keep in mind I am considering the movies, but I don't see 19 being able to handle more that the BGS, lol. So I feel safe setting my views on their absorbing limits using that as a standard. It's not outlandinsh thinking so I don't mind looking to TOEI on this one.

It wasn't 17 and 18's power that was considered a failure, but their independence.

19 was 100% obedient, so I doubt him being able to be stronger than 17 was a problem.

18 says that Gero went back to his old energy absorption design because infinite energy types were too powerful to control. 18 was suppressed compared to 17 in an attempt to gain obedience, to no avail. If 19 became stronger there's no guarantee that wouldn't result in a very similar situation.
