2 questions about Oozaru

Both related to Raditz' saying Oozaru was a saiyan's true form.

1) Did Saiyans evolve from Oozarus?

2) Is Oozaru really their true form?

I think true form was just metaphorical, considering Cell calls SSJ2 Gohan his true form as well (and Piccolo calls Ultimate Gohan the true him in Super). The Perfect Files states that Saiyans were apes who gained human form and rationality, but that's obviously canon only to GT (which itself is noncanon).

Yeah, it can relate to power but I don't know this statement felt just a bit different. Maybe it's because of the efficiency to conquer planets as an Oozaru and the "true nature" of a Saiyan no matter how pure-hearted coming-out. Gohan being the exception since Goku was able to reach his consciousness.

It'd be weird for a form that can only be reached when a full moon is up and needs extensive training to even remain rational in is the true form though, so I think Raditz just said that because it was the most powerful ability a Saiyan possesses (as far as he knew)

Raditz also said though how it's no wonder Goku can hang-out with earthlings since his tail got cut-off but yeah probably right.

Vegeta was still pretty evil without his tail on Namek so that was probably just his disgust at Galu not being able to go oozaru anymore.
