How about we talk about the levels that were fought in?

Tenshinhan was equal to Yamcha at first and then powered-up, so-on and so-forth.

Yeah, I'd say initially he was on-par with Yamcha, and when he powered-up he was way above him and that's how he started-off against Jackie Chun and both got a bit more serious as the fight went-on and surpassed the level that Tenshinhan was at when he defeated Yamcha obviously. I still think that Jackie Chun could have been above Tenshinhan when he even got a-bit more serious, since it was out-right said we never got to see Jackie Chun at full-power.

He was, but Master-Roshi isn't all that different to Match-Level Goku in-terms of power. That might just mean Tenshinhan was holding-back a great deal when he fought Master-Roshi a-bit seriously.

Isn't it possible he expected Tenshinhan to have even more power? Tenshinhan even said he'll get only a-bit more serious, IIRC.

Well if Roshi hiding some power was noticed, the reverse would be true as well. That should be somewhat of a given. Given Roshi's shock at watching FP Tenshithands against Goku and Roshi being unable to see Goku after he disappeared, I'd say Roshi's hidden powa was far inferior to Ten's

Yeah, I agree that Tenshinhan >> Master-Roshi in-terms of power.

I meant his less suppressed self when fighting Master-Roshi. Master-Roshi is at-least above that still, in my opinion.

Yeah Tsuru mistook that for Roshi's full powa but Ten sensed that he was hiding some and it wouldn't have been as easy as Tsuru thinks. Still, if Ten went close to all out Roshi'd get mauled obviously

Goku > Tenshinhan >> Goku (Match-Level) ~/>~ Master-Roshi >> Tenshinhan (srs business) > Master-Roshi (srs business) > Tenshinhan (powered-up) >>> Tenshinhan (Initial) ~ Yamcha

I don't really think he needed to. Yamcha was too shocked by the Kamehameha deflecting feat to react properly, and Ten held back massively for most of the tournament.

Since Match-Level Goku seemed to be a whole new level of power when he defeated Kuririn at the end.

I also remember now that Master-Roshi said that the KHH wouldn't work on Tenshinhan, so yeah that being a technique makes sense.

Wait, is Master-Roshi's (srs bizness) advantage over powered-up Tenshinhan all that noticeable? Tenshinhan felt the need to power-up, but it didn't seem like he was losing without putting-up a fight either.

But then Tenshinhan's power-up to go from not so serious to serious seemed somewhat significant, since he said he'd fight just a little-bit serious. Not sure what to think there honestly. The power-up seems quite a-bit, but then Master-Roshi's advantage over powered-up Tenshinhan didn't seem that much.
