[According to the Daizenshuu, since they slacked off, they didn't improve that much... which means they aren't that stronger than their Boo saga selves. Since that's the only tibit of information concerning their powers, which falls in line with Goku and Vegeta's comment on how they slacked off, I'll use that]

[Granted that Goku said someone besides them and Boo might win this tournament, but I don't think the 'might' necessarily implies Boo is close to Oob... such unsureness in Goku's speech might mean he is simply not so sure Oob can already wield power equivalent to that of Kid Boo, which, while likely, was still kind of an especulation iirc. So, Oob just might be enough to beat up Boo since the former demonstrating power on par with Kid Boo isn't a so sure thing. I don't think it'd make sense for Goku to be expecting Kid Boo's reincarnation to wield a power just slightly above Mr. Boo... I mean, that seems a bit random, does it not? Why power on par with Mr. Boo and not on par with the being he was based upon instead? Besides, Boo's regeneration could really come in hand against some inexperient kid, large though the gap is, as Goku didn't even seem that surprised at Oob not knowing how to fly]

Very good list, this is similar to my own tbh. I disagree with some things at the end of Z and I think the gap between Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku should all be widened at the beginning of the Buu arc.

I don't think Vegeta and Trunks surpassed 50% by much. Trunks is rather hopeless about anyone being able to beat Cell and thinks Goku is still their better choice. Vegeta's confidence implies they definitely got to 1/2 Goku's level, but Trunks's lack of confidence implies they aren't far above him, if at all.

Right after powering up against Dabura, when this latter pissed off him, Vegeta and Goku were already fabbergasted... Goku also said that they could get it down if the two of them fought together, implying a team effort would be needed to take fat Boo (1st power up) down.

Context: Vegeta says he'll help Goku fight Boo
Goku: “We’ll definitely be able to defeat Majin Boo if we all do it together.”

But of course, initial Majin Boo wasn't in a different level compared to Goku and Vegeta ssj2, as their combined effort could definitely bring the fatso down.

Well, I think that as long as there's a sizeable difference between them, it's good. Vegeta dominated Goku when having a slight more than a 1.1x lead, so I think a 84% lead justifies Vegeta's need to have his power awaken.

Fair enough, but I think both Vegeta and Trunks already knew that what Goku showed at Karin wasn't his full power, just weren't aware that it was as low as 50%. Trunks was surprised at the prospect of Piccolo being useless, which would indicate that he believed green man to have a shot against Cell, which would in turn lead the future boy to the thought that the rabit hole runs deeper on Goku's power. As for Vegeta, I think that his "show me what you can do, Kakarotto" line can indicate that he was also aware about the possibility of Goku still hiding some reserves. Just my opinion, though.
