I think it does, since they both mention my boy Tarble. But actually when I made this thread, I thought for a minute Gotenks went SSJ3...but obviously he didn't. Oh well. Go get em' Aka!!!

Even base Gotenks was slapping Aka around like a volley ball.

Aka is stronger than SSj kids and weaker than base Gotenks. He could be stronger or weaker than Grey Boo, but his placement is completely arbitrary.

True. But then Aka went crazy and it got out of Gotenks control, which was really my basis for this. Either way, you're probably right in it being a largely arbitrary placement.

I always thought that all maintain their power from the Arc Boo in this special, except for Trunks and Goten, as these state Base barely exceeded 2 individuals who had the power of 100% Freezer. I also find that this particular Gotenks this nerfed, plus SSJ Goku was more than enough to defeat Aka. Personally I have to Aka the same level of a Cell Jr. also remember that at the end of the Special, the narrator said these enemies came a little late in history. This can be interpreted as if they had in the past been a challenge, but this time are fodder.

Aka gets annihilated. Based on Yamcha stating Gotenks was just as strong as before (and never witnessed post-Rosat Gotenks), Base Gotenks is only as strong as his pre-Rosat self, who I see Aku Boo stomping as bad as Fat Boo did.

I think what the movie is telling us that Gotenks didn't get weaker since Boo arc which probably referring post rosat. Then again, screw this guy

Are you sure? The closest I could find is Krillin saying "Even after two years, he's still the same as ever", and I'm 100% sure he's referring to Gotenks personality rather than his power. Not everything is a power statement.

The manga version is the adaptation anyway, so wouldn't the anime be the "canon" version?
