Are Buu's absorptions always additives?

Dai Kaioshin is the obvious exception. That aside, is the absorbed person's power always just added to Buu's?

Yes. There's absolutely zero evidence to suggest otherwise, leaving the burden of proof to fall on any who believe so. I wouldn't class Pure Evil Boo eating Innocent Boo as an "absorption" in the same vein as the others, considering the method of merging was far different and, unlike the others, it is very much the two halves reuniting in a different manner.

Yes, though I'd say South Kaioshin is questionable when we saw how Dai Kaioshin affected Boo.

With the Dai Kaioshin being the exception there's every other absorption seems to power scale to addition.

Nah. The only time we get insight about his absorptions is when he says he’ll “add” Gotenks’ power and Piccolo’s brain to his, but it might be just semantics. Could go either way honestly.
