I was mainly talking about the 2016 movie which was a sequel to the original manga story written by the author.

The movies follow basically the same formula but one has far better animation and dialogue than the other, plus it isn't just the generic Yami Yugi vs. Kaiba leads to the final villain popping out of nowhere and trying to conquer the world story.
