Ash is a dolt who acts like a first year trainer every season. What was his best run, or what was his most facepalm moment in a battle?

The best for me was when he did the Orange League Challenge. He did well through most of that season, thought on his feet, used his pokemon in creative ways, et cetera. I always thought the Orange League was when Ash was at his best.

I'm sort of at a loss for his worst moments, but his battle against Lorelei was pretty sad. He was fighting an Elite Four member and or course threw in Pikachu, which was too obvious in my opinion. He treated a badass ice pokemon like a run of the mill water type and just threw in Pikachu for the easy win. Should have thought outside the box and he got domed for it.

Best - One of his Sinnoh League matches, probably, or beating Brandon.

Worst - Nothing beats Pikachu losing to a fucking Level 5 Snivy. Nothing.

Unova in general was Ash's worst. Best is his Sinnoh run.

Worst: Either Kanto or Unova.

Kanto has the excuse of being a beginner, but Unova....Intelligence, competence, maturity, and league ranking all regressed in BW.

Best: Kalos

Ash went on a winning streak that lasted more than half of the series, showed just as much creativity and competence as he did in Sinnoh, got Runner-Up in the league NARROWLY losing in the end. He caught his best regional team to date, Greninja is definitely the most powerful Pokémon he's ever owned being able to casually dominate Megas, clash with E4 Tier or above opponents and hold his own fairly well or even straight up overwhelm them. Even in Base Form, Greninja has shown that he's definitely no slouch still being able to compete with E4 Tier opponents and hold his own pretty well. The only other Pokémon who've been able to pull off those kind of feats is a Plot Powered Pikachu and even then he could only really endure, rather than fight back.
