We know that the DB/Z/GT/Super anime in general has been pretty lazy when it comes to changing openings, with only Z and Super having done so (changing entire opening songs rather than just a few of the animations) and OG DB and GT never changing the song. While this does have the effect of making songs like Cha-la-head-cha-la and Makafushigi Adventure memorable, it also doesn't reflect the many story altering events in arcs such as Piccolo Daimao/23rd and Cell. So with this in mind, at which point would you just change the animations to the same song, or change songs altogether?
For OG DB I'd definitely change it at the Piccolo Daimao arc, with something similar to Makafushigi Adventure playing before it. The previous opening song would change animations for the Pilaf arc, 21st TB arc and RRA arcs respectively, but retain the same opening song. This one would instead focus on the first half of the song being Galu reminiscing into the happy times he had during the 22nd and in previous arcs with Kuririn and Roshi, only for the Kanji "Ma" to cover the screen before silhouettes of Tambourine, Cymbal and Drum tear apart Galu's happy memories and Daimao stops his heart with his Makosen. Back-to-back montages of Mutaito, Roshi and Tenshinhan each peforming the Mafuba would then be shown along with Karin and the Choshinsui, ultimately culminating with the final scene being Galu vs. Daimao Piccolo at King Castle. For the 23rd arc, I'd retain the same song (which would have foreshadowing of God/Kami being one and the same as Daimao), only the montage of 22nd events would be replaced with grown-up Galu and the rest of the team participating in the 23rd, and the scenes of Daimao and his minions would then be replaced with scenes of Young Kami's life being shown from his childhood alone in the Namekian spaceship, all the way to his split with Daimao, and Piccolo Jr. then being shown taking on adult Galu in the final match of the 23rd.
For Z, I'd change opening animations at the Freeza arc, and change the opening altogether for the Cell and Boo arcs both. The reason obviously being that there's more of a time jump and enough introductions of new characters in the latter two arcs, as well as the tone changing to a greater degree than between Saiyan and Freeza.
With GT, I mostly don't care to change opening songs, although Super #17 and the Evil Dragons should have definitely taken Baby's place as Galu and the gang's main enemy.
With Super, I think up to the U6 arc the opening could have stayed the same with different animations as in the original song, although I would have changed the opening song during the Future Trunks arc because of the greater tonal shift. I'm fine with the ToP opening, although I'd change opening songs during Broly because of Limit Break Survivor referencing the ToP heavily (and don't really care to change openings altogether for Moro; changing animations is enough for that failure).
