I like them both. For some-reason though for sometime, sometime ago I didn't like the Bardock Special as much as I did before, but I must have been stupid because I'm back to liking it very much (maybe even as much as I did long-ago).

That being said Trunks Special has characters we actually know and care about in the main role (Gohan and the others), and has Gohan in the (2nd???) protagonist role alongside Trunks, so I say I like the Trunks Special more, probably. Also unlike Bardock Special, the protagonist here are like-able. Bardock was an asshole, and kind-of had it coming.

Bardock has a huge fanbase.
I meant like-able, as in a character that's actually redeemable. I also like Bardock in the TV Special, but he's not a good character in the moral sense it seems.

History of Trunks has much more emotional impact for me. I think it comes close to workings as a damn good stand alone anime movie.

Bardock's special had the potential to be better because of the whole deal with a brutal Saiyan warrior that killed others being forced to live with his own people's demise, and being unable to change that fate. could've made for much deeper emotional conflict than simply having all your friends die, but it didn't hit as hard as the other special. Trunks' wins.
