Best Tenkaichi Budokai

What was the best Tournament displayed in the series in your opinion? If you will, leave a reason as well.

I honestly enjoyed the 22nd one (2nd displayed in the series) more... Not only did it feature a good rivalry between different schools of martial arts, culminating in a great final match, showcasing a good deal of different move-sets and turn arounds. I think the fillers scenes added in the anime aided for a bigger impact overall in the betrayment of Tenshinhan towards his master, plus it allowed for more character development imo.

Definitely the 22nd for me. The 21st is second place, but the amount of tension within the 22nd felt like a nice change from the 21st, and there were several very interesting battles.

I think 15th Budokai was the best.

21st Budokai due to its funny matches where I can watch it anytime. 22nd and 23rd became too serious for me where I find it actually boring for my taste IMO.

21st as-well. I prefer the light heartedness if the 23rd hadn't turned into such a Goku/Piccolo jack-off fest toward the end that'd have been close.

Probably 21st, i like it's campy tone. I also like the serious tone of 22nd and 23rd, though the former had Tenshinhan's development being extra rushed and 23rd had some shitty dragging it down.

Easily the 21st TB. The ensemble of characters, the difference in tone between each fight, the choreography of Goku VS Roshi and the double KO finale make it easily the most unique one of the bunch. The 22nd TB had a decent coming of age theme and good fights, but the school rivalry focus made the character motivations far less diverse, Tenshithands had poor motivations as an antagonist and the finale felt like a step down in scale from the Oozaru transformation and Moon busting of the previous Budokai. 23rd TB is easily the worst due to it having a focus that felt hindered by the limitations of a tournament setting and some major problems in character writing such as Goku's selective memory about Kami's link to the Dragon Balls or Kami's decisions seeming inconsistent.
