that could be, but iirc what i remember from the case the meng lived over at-least 50 years ago or so (they talked like it was a legend) and the meng was already old then, so what are the chances of having got such an advanced drug so long ago. Vermouth did though, maybe that something was something that only happened twice (once to the boss & once to vermouth) and now they want to permanently create a method to affect their age/life-span whenever they want, so they went-on to do research for the drug APTX-4869.

Well, the Conan world isn't very realistic in general, because if you sweated away enough calcium to be reverted to the skeletal structure of a 6 year old you'd probably be covered in evidence, plus your nervous system contracting that much would probably induce death in of itself

I'm betting an earlier, or perhaps similar but unrelated drug was involved in deaging those individuals, yet also left extremely heavy side effects given the boss is still researching new methods to achieve his goals (presumably extreme longetivity) and Vermouth seems to secretly be plotting against the organization which hints the drug or whatever she gained from the organization came at a great personal cost (like a side effect perhaps?).

Yeah, Vermouth seems against it. Maybe it wasn't all great for her.

It's possible the drug also de-aged the boss and he's been stuck as a child forever. That's why he doesn't let other members meet him.

I don't know why Vermouth would hate it though. She's a world-renowned actress, she should be all like "OMG Yes. I stay young forever.", but then again she's also a criminal.

Akai is an intelligent one. Perhaps he knows there are still somethings she can be helpful with in regards to the organisation, especially considering she's kind-of against its goals now.
