Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Roster

So I finally splurged and bought Budolai Tenkaichi 2 & 3 from ebay. I know a bit about 2 already, but I've only played 3 a handful of times...and that was ages ago. I know 3 has the insane character roster. My question is: does the game come with the roster fully unlocked or do you have to systematically unlock everyone?

Some characters are unlocked from the start (such as Baby Vegeta for some reason), other characters you'll have to unlock through story mode and those potaras or whatever the fuck iirc. I barely played 5 minutes of BT3 so I'm not too sure.

Majority of characters are unlocked. Those that are not are either unlocked through story mode or winning tournament.

A lot of characters are available by default, but for the ones that aren't:

Normal characters: Unlock through the story mode & tournaments
Red Potara characters: Password-generated

Be prepared to pay. I bought the game complete with case and manual for much more expensive than a top tier PS4 game.

My copy arrives today! Excited to give it a shot but my only PS2 controller has a fucked up analog. I last played this game on Wii in 2006 or 7, so it’s been a while.

As said above, most of the characters are unlocked at the start, but a lot of the new ones and a few GT characters require playing through story mode and the tournaments to unlock them. Most of the ones from Story Mode come from completing the GT, DB and What-If Arcs, with the only other ones being Nail being unlocked by completing the first stage of the Freeza Arc and Dr. Uiro by completing the 2nd stage of the Special Arc. Tournament ones come from beating certain tournaments on specific difficulties (eg. Beating World Tournament on Level 3 unlocks Lord :bitch) and some come from using the Dragon Balls such as Chichi and Future Gohan, who show up for Ultimate Shenron and Shenron respectively.

My boi Lord Appule! This roster is absolutely insane. The graphics are excellent for a PS2 game. Luckily have it upscaled to 720p.
