Captain ginyu's speed

When ginyu stole goku's body he commented that he is now much faster than before and in goku's body he had power level of 23,000.Is this inconsistency because it wouldn't make sense for ginyu to be that slow in his purple body

As a teenager I thought this was that he accessed the speed but not the strength. Being much older now I realized this is bad writing, they backed themselves into the corner plotwise, and this asspull happened.

I've always thought that once he powered up, he got weaker instead getting stronger. Hell, even Vegeta stated that Ginyu has similar power to Goku.

10% of Goku was left in the body but slowly joined the other 90% trapped in Ginyu. That was responsible for Ginyu's speed initially being identical to Goku's.

Or the speed has more to do with his physical body, and the power level more to do with his chi.

I tend to think all of the gravity training just made Goku's body naturally faster than most.

Flying faster at under 23,000 than in his other body is still full of shit though

I think it was just red herring to throw people off and prevent them from realizing Ginyu had weakened, in order to build tension. While not exactly the same, SSJ Grade 3 Trunks being able to dodge a kick from Cell and momentarily keep up with him is somewhat of a similar case, where the reader couldn't tell he was way slower than he was before.
