The Birth of the Kaiōs and Kaiōshins
The Kaios are born as "Core People" from the fruit of a giant Kai tree on a planet called "Boundary Core Star." Their lifespan is about 75,000 years, and when a King Kai dies on a certain King Kai planet, the next King Kai is chosen from among the core people. Only Kaiōshins are born from golden fruits, which is rare.

The existence of a god of destruction who rules the Earth
The God of Destruction who rules over the Earth is named Beerus. He woke up after a long sleep of 39 years. The awakening of the God of Destruction means that the planets within the controlled area will be destroyed, meaning that the Earth is also at risk of being destroyed by Beerus.

FREEZA AND HIS FOLLOWERS
Led by Frieza, the gang had sold off numerous planets one after another, but in this world they have become completely accustomed to life on Earth.
Kuriza
Frieza's son. He came to help Onio, who had been beaten by Nekomajin, at his request.
Kuriza image: He was overwhelmed by Nekomajin 2 and lost his will to fight. He has called a temporary truce and is staying at Nekomajin's house as a homestay student.
GENIES & MONSTERS
Each creature has a unique appearance and ability. With the exception of Buu, who happens to be visiting, Nekomajin's strength acts as a deterrent and prevents him from doing anything evil.
Usamajin
Commonly known as "Nekomajin imitation." He is easily defeated by Buu, who mistakes him for Nekomajin and challenges him to a fight.
Majin Buu
After a boy tells him that his character is similar to Nekomajin's, he becomes interested in Nekomajin and challenges him to a fight.
Usamajin image: Using despicable tactics that target their weaknesses, he absorbed the Majin Balls, the source of Nekomajin's power, and became stronger.
Boo fighting Usamajin image: He seemed a little dissatisfied because he fought Usamajin, thinking it was Nekomajin.
Genie
It seems that he has fought Nekomajin many times, as he is revived simply by touching the sealed stone.
Genie image: A terrifying demon who simply enjoys committing evil deeds. He has the strength to easily lift huge boulders, but his tactics are cheap.
Agari Shark
An omnivorous creature that ate all the vegetables, cows, and even the islanders while Nekomajin Mike was sleeping.
SAIYAN
A race that boasts superior fighting power. Perhaps due to the characteristics of their species, which enjoys fighting strong opponents, everyone except Vegeta, who is proud and not good at jokes, seems to be intrigued by Nekomajin's immense fighting power.
Son Goku
Nekomajin Z's master. He asks Nekomajin for help in defeating a powerful enemy that even Goku and Gohan could not defeat.

Nekomajin Z lives in the wilderness on the other side of the Earth from Satan City, and Nekomajin Mike lives on Nekoma Island, a small cat-shaped island.

With a clear view, Pete keeps watch to make sure there are no suspicious people around. There has never been an incident like this before.
Nekomajin's house
A small house in a corner of the wilderness. It is equipped with a bath and a TV, allowing him to live comfortably. His roommate is Yamada Haruo-san, who lives with a hamster and a fish.
Onion Rock
It's a quiet place with just an onion-shaped rock. For some reason, a signing session with superstar Thunderbolt was held.
Nekomajin Mike's Island
"Nekoma Island" is a small island somewhere on Earth, surrounded by rich nature. The island has its own unique ecosystem, including giant fish and sharks, and the peace of the island is protected by Nekomajin Mike. There are only a handful of islanders, and cat mushrooms are the island's only source of income.

A large tree hollow by the pond is Nekomajin Mike's favorite nap spot. It was so comfortable that he slept there for 31 years.

The pier jutting out into the sea is the island's only port. There is almost no boat traffic, except for traders from the mainland who arrive on the day they purchase Nekoma cat mushrooms.
4. Giant fish pond
This is where Nekomajin washes himself after waking up from a nap. A ferocious fish lived there, but it was eaten by Nekomajin.
5. The habitat of the bald shark
This is where the Agari Shark, a ferocious creature that devours the island's cattle and vegetables in the fields, appears. When it senses prey, it jumps out of the sea.

Q: At times when there are no battles, or on days off, what sorts of things do the warriors do?
Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo train; Gohan studies; Bulma does [scientific] research; Satan makes appearances at events; and Kame-Sen’nin watches videos.
Q: There are a lot of mealtime scenes shown in Dragon Ball, but who’s the best cook?
The best ones at cooking are Gyūmaō and Yamcha, probably? For some reason, they have that sort of image.
Q: Scenes involving Goku’s home life appeared in the manga, but what are things like at home with Kuririn or Bulma?
Kuririn’s family is an exceptionally ordinary household, but #18 is scary when she gets angry, so Kuririn goes out of his way a little bit for her. Bulma’s family has had a laissez-faire attitude for generations, but Bulma has complete control over things as a rule.
Q: In the world of Dragon Ball, there are Earthlings in a variety of forms, such as animal-type characters. People such as the King and the director of the Tenka’ichi Budōkai were dogs; is there anything you do consciously when creating animal-type characters?
As for why I draw animal-type characters so often, I do of course like animals, but basically, it’s because it’s easy to do a greater number of variations. Dogs in particular have an image of being more loyal and purer than humans, so I make good use of them.
Q: Are there any characters that were actually modeled on someone?
In terms of [character] models, I suppose “Beerus”, the God of Destruction, was modeled on the 14-year-old cat currently living with us. It’s called a Cornish Rex; it’s a bit of a rare breed. I’m getting off-topic here, but the other day, in spite of developing a serious illness, and the vet declaring it didn’t have long to live, it miraculously got better on its own, and the vet said it might be some kind of demon. Karin-sama is modeled after the cat we had before that.1 Apart from that, nothing else comes to mind. Basically, I almost never make someone [i.e., a particular person] into a model [for a character]. There may be characters that were influenced by something, but not anything specific.

"At first, I just wanted Krillin to be a supporting character, but before I knew it, he had become like Goku's best friend...but he's had some pretty bad experiences, so I thought, 'I need to give him a good experience every once in a while,' and got him married (laughs)."

Q: It seems that there are quite a few kinds of Neko Majin; do they all have the cheerful disposition and the strength of the main Neko Majin characters?
Many Neko Majin have a cheerful personality, but among them, there are also pessimistic ones, as well as quiet, intellectual Neko Majin. It’s probably all right to think of “strong” the standard power of the Neko Majin race. This is normal for them, from the start.
Q: Are the Neko Majin a race originally from Earth?
Naturally, they are a race that has been on Earth since before humans. Among them, there are apparently even those who have been alive since that time. They are frighteningly long-lived, but as they are capricious, they never quite increase in number.
Q: The aliens who appeared in Neko Majin and the aliens who appeared in Abale-chan look alike; are they the same aliens?
They do look alike, but they are different aliens. Or rather, the aliens I draw generally have this sort of design. At the time, I enjoyed drawing Neko Majin, so when aliens appeared in Abale-chan, I didn’t even intend to come up with a new design. (laughs)

Q: What are the requirements for becoming strong?
There are physical limits to the strength of the body itself, so in order to overcome that barrier, it’s necessary to increase your “ki”. Normally, the more you increase your ki, the harder it is to control, so ki control is also important.
Q: In the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, coming out in March 2013, a new god, the “God of Destruction”, appears. In this [book], Kaiō-sama and Kaiōshin-sama are described as “Gods of Creation”, but do they have the power to create things like planets?
Rather than Kaiōshin-sama making planets, he is able to provide the impetus for them to be born. Also, he will sometimes divide up one planet and increase the number of planets. He will even do things like create life-forms, or transplant them from another planet, but his basic job is to watch over the numerous planets. Because the number of planets is so very large, the four Kaiō-sama help him out as well. They intervene if it appears that the world’s balance will crumble, but normally, they merely act in an advisory role for new life-forms, and don’t get involved. In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the God of Destruction destroys [them], but he does not act on Kaiōshin’s orders; he destroys according to his own individual judgment. Except, he is capricious, so he will destroy even an important world without a second thought, or when he finds it bothersome, let someone else act as an agent of destruction.

"The story that Bardock had a sad past was quite moving. That's why Bardock appears a little bit in the original work. I have a lot of background setting in my mind. In the end I didn't make much of it into a manga because it would have ended up sounding too explanatory. But because we had that kind of setup, it didn't really fall apart."

How did you come up with your training?

The fraudulent leader of the Rude cult. He collected energy from many followers under the orders of Dr. Myu. A die-hard doll geek, he tried to turn Pan into a doll and play dress-up with it.

The leader of M2, highly trusted by Dr. Myu. He has the ability to turn opponents into metal. It can evolve by absorbing parts.

Cell
The most evil android that fell into hell! An artificial human created by a computer using biotechnology developed by Dr. Gero. He was defeated by Gohan and fell into hell, but then teamed up with Frieza and targeted Goku.

Black Smoke Dragon
An evil incarnation born from the Dragon Balls!
A dragon that emerged from a dragon balls filled with negative energy. This dragon split into seven evil dragons. Unlike normal Shenron, his speech and behavior are vulgar.
One-Star Dragon
A powerful boss who rules over the evil dragons!
The strongest being among the evil dragons. His fighting power is greater than that of Super Saiyan 4 Goku. He absorbs all the evil dragons and becomes the Super One Star Dragon.

Two-Star Dragon
An evil dragon that holds a two-star sphere, and has the weakest attack power. He is highly intelligent and weaken his opponents with his own poisonous gas before attacking.
Three-Star Dragon
He is the older brother of Four-Star Dragon, and his real body is the three star ball. He manipulates cold air and torments his opponents with freezing rays. He has a despicable personality and even uses his younger brother as a shield.
Four-Star Dragon
The complete opposite of his older brother, he is sensible and prefers fair combat. He can control flames and heat his body up to 6,000 degrees.
Five-Star Dragon
It is a small evil dragon, but can grow to be gigantic. He manipulates electricity and attacks by discharging electricity.
Six-Star Dragon
An evil dragon who appears before Goku in the form of a beautiful female figure named "Youngest Princess." He can freely control the wind and is skilled at techniques that use tornadoes.

Beerus, the God of Destruction, Awakens!!
It's been a while since the threat of Majin Buu has passed. In a corner of the universe, Beerus, the all-powerful god of destruction, has awakened from his slumber. After hearing about Beerus from King Kai, Goku is excited to challenge him to a match. Meanwhile, Beerus was preparing to head to Earth to search for the "Super Saiyan God" he saw in a precognitive dream.
ACT 1: Goku to the strongest god, Looking forward to it!!
Universe image: The universe is at peace. However, behind the scenes, the Kaiōshins were in uproar over the return of the most powerful God of Destruction.
King Kai's image: "No matter how strong you are, he's on a different dimension!"
King Kai tries to dissuade Goku from fighting by letting him know how strong Beerus is, but it has the opposite effect on Goku!

Beerus easily defeated Goku and headed for Earth. Meanwhile on Earth, Vegeta and the others were enjoying Bulma's birthday party.

However, Beerus' anger finally explodes! Gohan and the others try to stop him, but no one can do anything. Furthermore, Beerus declares that he will destroy the Earth...!!
ACT 1: Beerus goes on a rampage!! The cause is... pudding!?

The reason for Beerus' anger was that Buu had been monopolizing the pudding for himself!
