Everyone is talking about a Zeta tournament and I'm just sitting here like a jabroni. The Veteran Noob. I've clocked well over 500 hours on Pokemon over the years, and while I consider myself to be a big fan, I've never really cared to learn about moves, different pokemon and competitive battling, and guys like Mike and Captain Cadaver make me feel so so STUPE with their grand knowledge and wisdom.

So where would I start, if I wanted to learn more about Competitive PvP? The main single player games are far to easy for me to actually care to form a strategy, so I feel a little confus about how to start, where to go etc. who will be my Zeta-Sensei?

If you're looking for places to study up on common strategies and recommended movesets, the best places are probably Smogon and the Youtube channel TheNationalDex

Whilst I know a fair bit about competitve battling, I don't do too much myself, since along with being too busy for the most part, I've seen a lot of championship teams tend to be nearly the same. For instance, a video I saw of the UK's VGC finals had both the finalists have Mega Rayquaza and Primal Kyogre on their teams. Then again, you do get the rare exceptions, such as the guy who got far in the US regionals with a Pachirisu.

yeah just general reading online will do wonders, read up on the different tiers and the the ins and outs of making a competitive team
after that just start battling. You can only do so much reading after fighting and fighting you will pick up and learn the ins and outs of the competitive scene. Its not that hard imo. After a little while i sure you can more then catch up.
