Could Videl have been utilised better?

Videl debuted as a fairly dynamic character in the Boo Arc and a very different one from many in the manga, being shown as quite deductive and very much a fish out of water when it came to what was commonplace to the main cast. Her feelings developing for Gohan were also better paced than most other pairings within the series and she overall got a lot of focus in the early Boo Arc. Ability-wise, she was presented as being quite talented in quickly harnessing bukujutsu. After her fight with Lord :bitch though, she basically retires to the background from thereon. Considering Toriyama found room to make her father one of the most important characters in the Boo Arc despite him being even less relevant in power than her, do you think he could've found a way for her to play a bigger role in the arc as a whole had he wished to develop her further. If so, how do you imagine he'd go about it without drastically rewriting the arc?

Considering that even Kuririn did essentially nothing the whole arc except stomp some fatso in the Budokai, I'm honestly not sure what could have been done. Maybe Boo could have left her alive, causing Gotenks to waste some of his fusion time protecting her to make his loss to Super Boo less pathetic?

If the series had stuck with a more adventurous setting (searching for DBs, RRA, Namek) instead of just fighting people on Earth then it's possible she could've been used in a useful way that didn't involve fighting a la Bulma on Namek.

If Super continues after the garbage arc that's happening now then I'd like to see the next arc involve something like going to a difference universe, like on of the ones excluded from the ToP, and have the characters moving to various planets in search of something or someone. Though Videl probably would have no involvement in that. Even if something like this happened it will still terrible in all likelihood.

Cool thread as I have the same sentiment towards Videl's involvement, although I'm not really sure at the execution. Maybe though they could exploit Boo's eery feelings towards her and her father more as a way to, maybe, buy Popo more justifiable time in throwing Dende down on Earth? Maybe she could survive as well.

I'd like Gohan to have met Videl right after the Cell Games, with both of them remaining their badass selves. They would make a lovely preteen couple.

Videl was introduced way too late in the series. If she were added back in the early arcs then I could see her going somewhere since she was shown to a prodigy in her own rights.
