Dabura being Super-Perfect Cell's equal???

I don't believe this, but doesn't this kind-of work with how the series been doing the old villain is fodder thing? Like in every new saga the previous huge bad's power is shown to be nothing:

When Raditz came he was able to easily take-on both Goku & Piccolo at the same time.

When Vegeta came, Tenshinhan & Yamcha defeated Saibamen easily (for Yamcha a bit hard). The Saibamen were said to rival Raditz.

When Freeza came, Vegeta easily defeated Kiwi, who was said to be rivalling Vegeta before he came to Namek.

When the Androids were the next threat, Trunks easily one-shotted Freeza.








So doesn't that fit with all that? Dabura got embarrassed by Boo later. It doesn't really work, but maybe that was the intention (or you just got to lower Cell).

Or he could have been SSj2, IIRC there were some implications that he could have been.

but even then you'd have to lower Cell to make that work.

I feel like this may have been Toriyama's intent when he came up with Dabura, but when he dabbled in things like Gohan apparently not being able to access his true power and not having sparks and all that buffoonery, things got messed up.

So that's why I can't make sense of anything from this part of the series.

So we need a new form between SSJ and SSJ2.

We already have MSSJ.

So I will call this NSSJ2 (Nerfed Super Saiyan 2). It's a form unique to Gohan.

He also has Nefed Ultimate and GT Nerf. Both are rare forms.

I don't believe Dabura being Super Perfect Cell's equal. I think Gohan was a SSJ while fighting Dabura and Dabura was visibly struggling with him and tried to turn him into stone and outright try to kill him when he was ordered to hurt him. Even if you want to say Gohan was a SSJ2 while fighting Dabura it doesn't change Dabura struggling with him and was physically overpowered by him and Vegeta saying on 3 separate occasions that Gohan's power has dropped significantly so I see no possible way for Dabura and Super Perfect Cell to be equals. Dabura compared to Cell I can only see two ways.

Dabura = Power Weighted Perfect Cell
I see Gohan being Power Weighted Perfect Cell level at best. I don't buy Gohan dropping in power so much that he's evenly matched with FP Perfect Cell (Then again I'm a bloater with my PL so that's kind of impossible for me).

Dabura = Perfect Cell (Vs. Goku) or Cell Games Goku
This is where I personally put him. As I said I think Gohan was a SSJ while fighting Dabura and Gohan lost a considerable amount of power so this seems most reasonable to me.

Goku was most likely talking about the Cell he fought.

Now what you want to interpret is that when Goku said he would give them trouble 7 years ago, was he including SSJ2 kid Gohan in that statement? I mean its not like his SSJ2 transformation was at a point in time separate from 7 years ago. And guess what? SPC did very well give everyone including SSJ2 Gohan trouble 7 years ago... and since Gohan was included in the "we" statement its definitely possible. The only thing destroying this feature is the probability of Gohan being SSJ2, though if you want you can follow the Diaz which explicitly says he was.

Now you got perfect cell, This would only work if you dont include SSJ2 Gohan in the statement, while its true perfect Cell also gave them trouble, it doesn't necessarily have to concede with everyone because Gohan's SSJ2 transformation was anything but having trouble with him. But a counter argument! Trouble doesn't necessarily have to mean for a certain duration. There was infact a point in time where cell gave even Gohan trouble.

Hmmm...

From a story-telling perspective, it kind of actually makes sense if Dabura is, at least, low-SSj2-tier.

So, he's perhaps FP Perfect Cell-tier, if not a little stronger.

Even if that's the case, however, SPC stomps IMO.
