Dragon Ball Z Episode 1: Mini Goku is Just Precious! I'm Gohan
Five years have passed since the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. Goku and Chi-Chi had a son, Gohan, and lived on Mount Paozu, when a spaceship landed in another location. An alien appears from within! In his search for "Kakarot," he finds Piccolo, who unleashes great power, but even Piccolo, who has honed his skills to defeat Goku, is overwhelmed by that immense power!! At that moment, the alien catches another strong power and heads towards it.

Dragon Ball Z Episode 2: The Strongest Warrior in All of History is Goku's Brother!
Bulma is invited to Kame House, where Master Roshi and Krillin are, for the first time in five years. Goku arrives late and introduces Gohan, but at that moment an alien lands in front of the four of them!! Calling Goku Kakarot, he reveals that he is a Saiyan, the strongest warrior race in the universe, and that he is Goku's real brother, Raditz! Goku and the others are surprised. Piccolo and Goku challenge Raditz in the wilderness! God takes the dead Goku before King Enma. Before Goku is brought back to life with the DB, he has to have himself train under King Kai, the pinnacle of all gods in the universe! After receiving permission from the Great King to meet King Kai, Goku begins running along the Snake Road, said to be a million kilometers long. Meanwhile, Piccolo takes the unconscious Gohan from Bulma and the others and takes him to a deserted land. Piccolo leaves Gohan behind in the wilderness, telling him that if he survives for six months he'll teach him how to fight! Yajirobe appears at that moment and tells them a message from Karin, telling them to come to Karin Tower where God will give them training. He even defeats his trump card monster!! After killing the king, Vegeta destroys the planet, deeming it worthless.

With repeated training, Piccolo can even levitate a pyramid! However, his power was misadjusted, causing the earth to shift. While training in another place, Gohan panics when the earth cracks. At the same time, while being followed by Lunch, Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu are training at a waterfall when Krillin and Bulma show up. Gohan walks along a coast, then climbs a mountain, and discovers that his training ground is an island. Gohan washes up on the shore and is saved by some children who lost their homes and parents in the tsunami two years ago. On King Kai's planet, Goku meets King Kai, who loves puns. He makes King Kai laugh with a pun he thought out carefully, and receives permission to train. King Kai, who believes that the Saiyans are stronger than him, orders Goku to capture his pet Bubbles on King Kai's Planet, where the gravity is ten times that of Earth. Goku chases after the sprinting Bubbles and finally catches him after three weeks! King Kai is impressed with Goku's ability to overcome 10 times gravity, and hopes that he may be able to master the Kaio-ken.

Dragon Ball Z Episode 20: The Return of the Saiyan Legend! Goku's Roots

Vegeta and Nappa appear from two spaceships. Nappa destroys the Eastern Capital with a single blow, and flies to Piccolo and Gohan's island, following Vegeta in his search for the DB. Krillin rushes to Piccolo and Gohan's side and confronts Vegeta and co. who have appeared, but it's only when Nappa and the others tell them that Piccolo is a Namekian! Following Vegeta's orders, Nappa buried seeds in the ground, and six vicious Saibaimen were born!!

Dragon Ball Z Episode 23: Yamcha Dies! The Terror of the Saibaiman
As Piccolo and the others fight the six Saibaimen, Tenshinhan, Chiaozu, and Yamcha rush to their aid. Vegeta proposes a one-on-one game, and Tenshinhan goes first against one of the Saibanmen. The Saibaman spews a dissolving liquid from his head, but is easily defeated by Tenshinhan, and is then erased by Vegeta! Next he fights Yamcha, who takes Krillin's place, and after being defeated, Saibaman clings to Yamcha and commits suicide!! Krillin is furious!

Dragon Ball Z Episode 24: Farewell, Ten-san! Chaozu's Suicide Strategy
Bulma is crying as she watches the TV broadcast from the scene at Kame House, but Master Roshi comforts her, telling her that Yamcha has been brought back to life with the DB. An angry Krillin fires a ki blast that takes down three Saibamen, and Piccolo destroys the remaining one, but Vegeta and Nappa are unharmed! With Vegeta's permission, Nappa takes on the five men by himself and cuts off Tenshinhan's left arm! Chiaotzu embraces Nappa and commits suicide!! But that too, didn't work on Nappa.

Crying over Chiaotzu's death, Tenshinhan goes on the offensive, but Nappa ends up hurting him instead! Goku finally drives Vegeta away! Bulma and Master Roshi rescue Goku an co. and retrieve Yamcha and the others' bodies. Piccolo was killed, and both God and the DB disappeared. No one can come back to life! However, Krillin had heard Vegeta say that there were DB on Planet Namek as well. Planet Namek is far away, but with the Saiyan spaceship, they should be able to get there! With the possibility of everyone coming back to life, Krillin and the others regain their spirit!

On board of the spaceship are children whose planets have been destroyed by Frieza! They had mistaken Gohan and the others for Frieza's minions. At that moment, the spaceship crashes into a meteor shower!! The ceiling collapses due to the intense impact! Gohan and Krillin save the day in the nick of time! Once they escaped the meteor shower, the children realized that Gohan and the others were not their enemy. After parting ways with the children, Gohan and co. take a shortcut to Planet Namek, but get caught up in a cosmic tide.
