Did Freeza increase his power vs Vegeta?

Talking about the instance In which Freeza transformed and faced Vegeta. Vegeta initially could see Freeza's movements, save Gohan from a death bean and keep up with him... Forcing Freeza to increase his speed (he stated that). But did the speed increase come accompanied with a power increase? It seems to be the case since Vegeta thought he could win against Freeza:

Chapter: 304 (DBZ 110), P10.5-6
Context: after Dende heals him
Vegeta: “Freeza’s battle power…! So he’s finally shown his true form, huh?...Well, I don’t care if Freeza or anyone else comes at me…! I’ve just now become a Super Saiyan…!”

And even Goku later is surprised at Vegeta's chi having been diminishing this quickly, wondering if Freeza really is that strong... Which he should already know if Freeza initially were already >>> Vegeta.

Maybe he just increased his speed and had only a power burst when he kicked away the blast.

I don't think he did. It's actually similar to what Cell did to Vegeta even though #16 said Vegeta had the advantage but turned out to be false.

Context: Goku revealed that he defeated Taopaipai. Tenshinhan did not believe it.

I think he deffo increased his power when he deflected the blast.

Vegeta aint the best ki sensor since he is too arrogant sometimes but at other times he is pretty good

Sure Frieza increased from that fight, but not much at all.
It's the same reason why Frieza is greater than Base Saiyans.
The higher the PowerLevel over an inferior/lesser PowerLevel, the smaller the gains.

Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, gained the most.

Think of it like Gaming.
Reaching level 50 you're not going to gain points relative to your current level 50 from that early level 01 Boss.

If Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, fought more in Base then they'd gain so much more.
Base Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, vs any enemies after Namke, their PowerLevels would be so huge.
Take Broly for example in the DragonBall Super: Broly movie.
