Did Piccolo change after the Kami's merge?

This seems like a well accepted theory, but did he in fact change?

Personality wise, not power, ofc.

It seemed like he changed immediately. You could see it in his interaction with Mr. Popo. He gained the wisdom and good attributes from Kami despite retaining his personality for the most part.

He didn't respect higher gods at all when he was on Kaio's planet, but he showed intense reverence to (enough to lower his power level to lower levels than base Saiyan levels ). It's clear that Kami becoming part of him changed his personality significantly due to the memories he gained.
