Did Trunks have greater gains than Goku during 3 years?

If, at Mecha saga, there was a large gap between Goku/Trunks (because Trunks<Rumors Goku<Yardrat Goku)
and, at Androids saga, they're close, does that mean that Trunks had greater gains than Goku? Seems weird
to me, since Goku's training should be more serious and organized than Trunkses, who lived in a world he had
to run for his life. That's why i think Trunks should be visibly below the other two SSJs at Android arc.

Well, Piccolo did go from 1,500,000ish to the mid hundred millions in 3 years. It's probably one of those "can't let any Saiyan look weak" moments.

They gained about the same power imo. Mecha saga Goku wasn't that much stronger than Trunks, considering he called him incredible and the androids thought to be > Trunks scared Goku. In the androids arc they also were in the same range of power, since they were grouped by Tenshinhan, who said Goku should not be much different from Trunks or Vegeta.

Trunks should be a fair bit weaker than Goku, he was knocked out in two hits while Vegeta, who is implied to be only a little bit stronger than Goku, managed to last for a fairly big time compared to Trunks

They are still in the same range of power due to Tenshinhan's comment and Trunks keeping up with Vegeta in the fly, who was annoyed with it and had to call his son for it.

Vegeta's resilience can also play a factor in that battle too IMO.

Vegeta's endurance shouldn't be any bigger than Trunks' or Goku, he is a Saiyan just like them.

BTW, the first hit Trunks took was from behind, the same way Majin Vegeta knocked Goku out, despite them being equals. The second was an weird one, which I'm sure Trunks was in a disadvantage compared to Vegeta, since he was hit in the gut by Vegeta's backside area.

The feats are kind of up for interpretation in this instance (in the androids fight), so I go with the statement, which really implies the three SSJs being in the same range of power.

Do you think AT intended SSJs to be close, both at Mecha and Android sagas?

Yes. Both in Mecha saga and in the Androids saga them SSJs were intended to be in the same range of power IMO, with the gap being at most 85% (between Goku and Trunks debut, depending how you see the implications). Maybe I'd not call it close since an 88% gap seems to make a fight one sided, but in the same range yeah.

When I readed manga couple of weeks ago, it looks like Goku and the others [except Piccolo] didn't gained much of power which makes both Tien and Kami's statements looks credble about Trunks feat when he killed Freeza.

Goku gained a LOT of power. Even his heavily sick Super Saiyan form was implied to be stronger than SSJ Goku from 3 years ago by Tien and Yamcha. Kami and Tien's statements are credible, because Trunks could have gained Zenkais from being assaulted by the Androids when he was in the Future.

Yeah I don't put much difference between the two before or after the training. Vegeta get's pretty much KO'd almost as fast as trunks once the androids fight seriously.
