Did WB overtake Roger?

Did WB become stronger than Roger ever was? WB wasn't that old when Roger died. Was there any indication that he got even stronger after Roger's death?

Nope. Doflamingo said he decided to bow to his throne rather than overtake him. I think that implies he had the chance to become stronger, but preferred the family thing instead.
